[BMW] Published: BMW’s scalable self-driving architecture

The first time BMW has been published in April, which was released by Tech Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto-Tune has been held in the first time. The roadmap shows the most priority of the vehicle is the most priority of the vehicle. The sources of AV development companies were confidential to the V architecture, the source of the car industry was very surprised to the BMW’s transparency of the car industry.BMW has been enumerated both major components and major chip supply companies (see Figure). The founder and the top analyst of the VSI Labs, who said, “We’ve seen the most comprehensive content of the IBM and Mobile Technology. He added, “It’s a little unusual for the AV stack.”

EE Times met Simon Fürst, BMW Group’s chief expert in self-driving technology. We talked about the basic principles of BMW’s AV platform and its AV safety strategy, and why BMW thinks the approaching ISO standards to define, develop and test automated driving systems are important. Fürst chairs the ISO Group for the development of Draft Technology Report (DTR) 4804. Scalability BMW’s AV platform architecture defines the priorities of enterprise AV design. Focuses on software and hardware scalability and reuse. Currently, hardware and software are being reused as much as possible across ECUs and cameras across all BMW passenger cars from Level 2 to Level 4/5. BMW’s basic platform was built on the AUTOSAR (Automatic Open System Architecture) using classic microcontrollers (BMW uses Infineon’s Aurix). BMW addresses these needs by deploying additional sensor systems and high-end microprocessors while improving self-driving and its capabilities. The foundation of this platform uses Infineon’s Aurix and Renesas’ R-CAR SoCs to optimize applications in stereo front cameras. For Level 3 models, BMW has added 52 Mobileye Eye Q5, 2 Intel Denverton CPUs and 1 Aurix. For Level 4/5 vehicles, BMW will expand its configuration with EyeQ53, Xeon 24C1 and Aurix.
